Dampney / Mullin finished their season with a 17th place finish in Thailand, following a defeat in three sets to Italians Cicolari / Menegatti (21-18, 14-21, 13-15).

In the Main Draw, Dampney / Mullin opened up against the Swiss pairing of Kuhn / Zumkehr who won last week's event in China, and went down in two sets (18-21, 13-21).
This put them up against home team pair Tenpaksee / Sannok in the 25th place play-off, and they knocked their Thai opponents out with a (21-18, 28-26) victory.
Tomorrow they will be back in action in the 17th place play-off against the loser of the Cicolari / Menegatti (ITA) versus Khomyakova / Vasina (RUS) match.

Both teams entered the competition in the qualification tournament, with Dampney / Mullin and No. 1 seeds, and Boulton / Johns seeded 7th.
In the first of three qualification rounds both teams had byes.
In the second round, Dampney / Mullin faced Chiew Lee / Poh Hong from Malaysia, and romped to victory in just 25 minutes (21-10, 21-6).
Boulton / Johns fought hard against Kropp / Hochevar from the USA, but their season ended on the wrong end of a three set defeat (21-13, 17-21, 16-18).
In the third and final qualification round, Mullin / Dampney were given a stern test by Canadians Rodrigue / Zakrewski, and came back from a set down to qualify for the Main Draw which starts tomorrow, (21-23, 21-16, 15-13).
