Indoor Athletes take to the European Club stage

In December eight GB indoor athletes experienced European Cup Volleyball in the three CEV club competitions.
In the round of 32 of the CEV Cup Women, Janine Sandell's Valeriano Alles Menorca Volei (Spain - Superliga) played Istres Ouest Provence (France - Pro A), winning 3-0 in France and 3-1 in Spain to progress to the round of 16.
In the 2nd round of the GM Capital sponsored CEV Challenge Cup Women, Lynne Beattie's Calcit Kamnik (Slovenia - MEVZA League) came up against Iraklis (Greece - A1 League), losing 1-3 in France and 0-3 in Slovenia.
In the 2nd round of the GM Capital sponsored CEV Challenge Cup Men, Tenerife Sur (Spain - Superliga) lost to Ribnica Kraljevo (Serbia - SuperLeague), 1-3 in Tenerife and 2-3 in Serbia, with five GB players, Ben Pipes, Andrew Benson, Nathan French, Joel Miller and David Hamilton, all featuring.
In the Indesit sponsored CEV Champions League, Slawomir Master's Jastrzebski Wegiel S.A. (Poland - PlusLiga) play in Pool E, playing weekly against Panathinaikos Athens (Greece - A1 League), CoprAtlantide Piacenza (Italy - A1 League) and VfB Friedrichshafen (Germany - Bundesliga). So far they have lost at home to Panathinaikos, lost away to Piacenza, lost away to Friedrichshafen, and most recently won at home to Friedrichshafen.
