Environmental, social and governance (Esg) considerations
The British Volleyball Federation (BVF) recognises that good governance goes beyond compliance and includes acting responsibly towards people, communities, and the environment in which our sport operates.
While BVF does not currently operate a standalone ESG committee, the Board takes ESG matters seriously and has embedded them into its governance arrangements through a standing ESG agenda item at Board meetings. This ensures that environmental, social, and governance considerations are regularly discussed, reviewed, and factored into strategic and operational decision-making.
Through this approach, the Board considers issues such as environmental sustainability and resource use, athlete and workforce wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion, safeguarding, ethical partnerships, and compliance with the UK Code for Sports Governance. As BVF’s capacity and maturity in this area develops, the Board will continue to review its arrangements to ensure ESG considerations are addressed in a proportionate, effective, and transparent way.
