British Volleyball Federation Appoints Scott Over as Independent Non-Executive Director (Commercial & Marketing)

The British Volleyball Federation (BVF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Over as Independent Non-Executive Director (Commercial & Marketing) to its Board.

Scott brings extensive international experience in commercial strategy, sponsorship, marketing and governance across global sport, having worked at senior executive and board level with international federations, major events, brands and rights holders.

Currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Sporting Giants, a B-Corp sport-with-purpose consultancy, Scott advises international federations, major events and global partners on commercial strategy, partnership models and sustainable value creation. Sporting Giants was recognised as Best Business Serving Sport at the 2024 Global Sports Business Awards and works with organisations including the International Olympic Committee, World Aquatics, SAP, UK Sport and the Ryder Cup.

Prior to this, Scott spent five years as Commercial Director at World Sailing, where he led all commercial activities across sponsorship, marketing, Special Events and new revenue generation. During this time, he oversaw global partnerships with brands such as Rolex, SAP and Hempel, managed commercial relationships with major international events including the America’s Cup, SailGP and The Ocean Race, and played a key role in Olympic delivery, sustainability strategy and digital innovation, including the launch of World Sailing’s eSailing World Championships.

Scott has also held senior commercial leadership roles with OC Sport and Corbis Sports Agency, where he delivered global sponsorships with blue-chip partners including Red Bull, Land Rover, SAP, BNP Paribas and Aberdeen Asset Management. Earlier in his career, he worked for 7 years with the International Tennis Federation, supporting the delivery of Davis Cup, Fed Cup and Olympic events, including London 2012.

Alongside his commercial expertise, Scott brings strong governance experience, having served as a Director and Trustee of the World Sailing Trust, where he supported projects focused on sustainability, inclusion and youth development, and ensured robust financial and strategic oversight.

Scott also has a personal connection to volleyball, having played both in the UK and Spain, and has recently worked alongside British Volleyball and Volleyball Wales through UK Sport governance programmes. He joins the BVF Board at a pivotal time, as the Federation looks to strengthen its commercial model and global profile in the build-up to the Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Commenting on his appointment, Scott said:
“Volleyball has been part of my life for many years, so joining the British Volleyball Federation Board is something I’m genuinely proud of. This is a sport with huge untapped potential, not only commercially but in the way it brings communities together and inspires people to be active. I’m excited to give back to a game that has given me so much, and to work alongside the Federation to build strong partnerships, support athletes and create a sustainable future as we look towards LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032. It’s a privilege to play a small role in the next chapter of British Volleyball.”

British Volleyball Chair, Mark Kontopoulos says: “Scott brings outstanding commercial and strategic experience from across international sport, alongside a genuine personal connection to volleyball. His track record in building high-value partnerships, leading commercial strategy at federation level, and operating effectively at Board and Executive level will be a significant asset to the BVF.”
