The British Volleyball Federation (BVF) is seeking an experienced and reliable Independent Finance Professional to support our financial operations, reporting, and compliance.
This role is ideal for a qualified finance professional with strong bookkeeping and reporting experience who is comfortable working independently and supporting a grant-funded sports organisation.
About the Role
Working as an independent contractor, you will provide core financial administration and reporting support to BVF, including bookkeeping, forecasting, variance analysis, and UK Sport grant reporting. The role is remote, delivery-based, and requires approximately one day per month.
Key Responsibilities
Twice Monthly
Process invoices and expenses using Xero
Administer staff and contractor expense payments in line with BVF policies
Quarterly
Attend a quarterly finance review meeting
Prepare and present variance analysis (actual vs budget)
Update quarterly forecasts
Support preparation of BVF P&L, Balance Sheet and board finance papers
Upload actuals and forecasts to the UK Sport Investment Manager portal
Annual
Prepare BVFâs end-of-year financial return
Coordinate Companies House statutory submission
Ad Hoc
Support invoicing and administration for external funding streams
Provide additional financial administration support as required
About You
You will have:
Proven experience in bookkeeping or management accounting
Strong working knowledge of Xero (or similar systems)
Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and variance reports
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
The ability to work independently and communicate effectively
Professional indemnity insurance
Experience in grant-funded or sports environments is highly desirable.
